Eleanor
03:32
|

Saint Mary came to town to see me
She said last night she heard me grieving
And she asked me why, before I cried
She looked deep in my drownin' eyes and said,
"She's fine. She's doin' fine."
Saint Peter called me up this morning
He said that he could hear me mourning
That I've been picking fights that just aren't right
And she still loves me with all her might
And that she's fine... she's doin' fine
But Eleanor...
I never got to say goodbye and I find myself still asking why
Eleanor...
But when I die I know you'll greet me
Standing there, oh so sweetly
Waiting right inside heaven's door
Today I found myself out walkin'
Jesus and I got to talkin'
And I asked him why she had to die
He said, "My love, she's still alive!"
And that she's fine, she's doin' fine
But Eleanor...
I never got to say goodbye and I find myself still asking why
Eleanor...
But when I die I know you'll greet me
Standing there, oh so sweetly
Waiting right inside heaven's door
But when I die I know you'll greet me
Standing there, oh so sweetly
Waiting right inside... heaven's door

If I Die
05:45
|
|||
I had a dream last night when I was lying in someone else's arms
It was you and me and we were sitting out in our backyard
And I laughed when I told you, cause even after all this time
You were still on my mind
And I remember this just like it was the other day
We were face to face not knowing what to say
And we talked it all over, well I said I would be true
But you said that I just couldn't love you
But if I die before I have the chance to reconcile this lie inside
And if I go before you know that I'm on my knees
Forgive me please oh please
Oh please
Would you dance with me?
Would you hold my hand?
If I took back everything I ever said
Could you love me, love me, again, again?
But if I die before I have the chance to tell you why I'm sad inside
And if I go before you know that I love you so and I just needed you to know
I needed you to know
That if I die before I have the chance to reconcile this lie inside
And if I go before you know that I'm on my knees
And I'm begging you please, oh...
But if I die before I have the chance to tell you why I'm sad inside
And if I go before you know that I love you so and I just wanted you to know
I wanted you to know...

If You Fall
04:32
|

Hey, my friend.
What are you thinking?
I feel you sinking
and spilling around me and you.
But where are you going
without knowing
the place you're traveling to?
But I know I can't do anything at all
But I promise that I'll catch you
if you fall...
Well, hey, my friend
The sun is rising
a new horizon
is shining for you and me
I can't stop showing
the love that's growing
And singing out of me
But I know I can't do anything at all
But I promise that I'll catch you
if you fall...
if you fall...
Hey, my friend,
today I'm praying
you hear me saying
all that I can't in words
this mountain of feeling
that i've been shielding
afraid that i might get hurt
But I know I can't do anything at all
But I promise that I'll catch you
if you fall...
But I know I can't do anything at all
But I promise that I'll catch you
if you fall...

Wrong
04:43
|
|||
I've taken to sleeping in the middle of of my bed again, again
No room for the boy who took his clothes and fled
So here I am alone making pictures out of the cracks deep in my walls
Thinking that maybe he'd pick up the damn phone and call and call
But I was wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong
But I was wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong
But I was wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong
Again...
You caught me by surprise looking out at me with those big green eyes
Little did I know all the smoke and mirrors they were trying to hide
But tangled up with you, I was soft and safe and everything in between
But now I'm back to me, hard and wild and mean and mean
Cause I was wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong
Cause I was wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong
Cause I was wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong
Again...
So stand up like a man, tall and straight,
with everything I wanted you to be
Oh, just forget that you knew me, we just weren't meant to be
But babe you gotta let me go free
Yeah let me go free yeah
Cause I was wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong
Cause I was wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong
Yeah I was wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong
Again...
But oh never again
But again and again and again and again and again...
